Minecraft Flat World Generator

This is our Minecraft flat world generator. Choose your layers, set a biome, toggle structures on or off, and get a superflat preset string you can paste into your world settings.

Superflat worlds in Minecraft use preset strings to define the block layers, biome, and structures. The default superflat world is just grass on top of dirt on top of bedrock, but you can customize every layer to create testing environments, build platforms, custom maps, and more.

Writing preset strings by hand requires knowing the exact syntax, block IDs, and layer format. This tool lets you visually build your layers from bottom to top, select your biome from a dropdown, and toggle structures like villages, strongholds, and mineshafts. The generated preset string is ready to paste into the world creation screen.

Minecraft Flat World Generator

Build a custom superflat preset for Java Edition — add layers, set biome, and get a valid preset code.

To use this preset: Create New World → More World Options → World Type: Superflat → Customize → Presets → paste the code above → Use Preset. Structures (villages, strongholds, etc.) are controlled by which default preset you select in the list before pasting and by the "Generate structures" world toggle.

How to Use the Flat World Generator

Start by selecting a biome from the dropdown. The biome affects things like grass color, weather, and which mobs spawn naturally. Common choices are Plains for general use, The Void for building in empty space, and Desert for flat sandy terrain.

Next, add your block layers. Click “+ Add Layer” to create a new layer. For each layer, select the block type and set the thickness in blocks. Layers are ordered from bottom to top, so the first layer is the bottom of the world.

A typical setup would be 1 layer of bedrock at the bottom, 3 layers of dirt, and 1 layer of grass on top. However, you can use any block at any thickness.

From here, toggle the structure checkboxes to enable or disable villages, strongholds, and mineshafts. When your preset is ready, click “Generate Preset” and copy the output string. In Minecraft, go to Create New World, select Superflat as the world type, click “Customize,” and paste the preset string.

What Is This Tool For

This tool is for Minecraft players who want to create custom superflat worlds. Common uses include building creative mode testing environments, making flat building canvases, setting up redstone testing worlds, creating custom adventure maps, and building PvP arenas.

It is also useful for server admins who need to generate specific world configurations for minigames or event maps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use any block as a layer?

Yes. The generator supports all standard Minecraft blocks as layer options.

What does the biome setting affect?

The biome controls grass and foliage color, weather patterns, and which mobs spawn naturally. It does not change the block layers you define.

Where do I paste the preset string?

When creating a new world in Minecraft, select Superflat as the world type, click “Customize,” and paste the preset string into the field.

Does this work for Bedrock Edition?

No. Superflat preset strings use Java Edition syntax. Bedrock Edition has its own flat world customization interface that works differently.

Can I add more than 3 structure types?

The tool currently supports villages, strongholds, and mineshafts. Additional structure support may be added in future updates.
