Minecraft Resource Calculator

This is our Minecraft resource calculator. Select the blocks you want to build with, enter a quantity for each, and the calculator will break everything down into the raw materials you need to gather.

Planning a large build in survival mode means knowing exactly how many raw materials to collect before you start. Without a calculator, you are left guessing how much cobblestone, iron, or wood to mine, which usually means multiple trips back to gather more or ending up with too much of one thing and not enough of another.

This tool supports a wide range of blocks across categories like building blocks, slabs, stairs, redstone components, and utility blocks. You can add multiple items to a single calculation, and the tool tallies the total raw materials needed across everything.

Minecraft Resource Calculator

Calculate blocks and raw materials needed for your next build project.

How to Use the Resource Calculator

Click “+ Add Item” to add a block to your build list. Select the block type from the dropdown menu, which is organized by category. After that, enter the quantity you need.

You can add as many items as you want to the list. If you are building a house that needs 200 stone bricks, 64 glass panes, and 32 oak stairs, add all three with their quantities.

When your list is complete, click “Calculate Resources” and the tool will display a table showing every raw material you need to gather. The quantities are totaled across all items, so you get one combined shopping list for your entire build.

What Is This Tool For

This tool is for survival mode players planning builds and wanting to know exactly what to gather. It saves time by doing the crafting math for you, so you know the total raw materials before you start mining.

It is especially useful for large projects where the crafting chains get complex. For example, stone bricks require smelting cobblestone first, and redstone repeaters need stone, redstone dust, and redstone torches (which themselves need sticks). The calculator handles all of that automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this account for crafting recipes?

Yes. The calculator breaks each block down through its full crafting chain to raw materials. If a block requires smelting or intermediate crafting steps, those are included in the final tally.

Can I save my material list?

Not currently. However, you can screenshot or manually copy the results table for reference while playing.

Does this work for Bedrock Edition?

Yes. Crafting recipes are the same across Java and Bedrock Edition, so the raw material counts are accurate for both.

Why is my block not in the list?

The calculator covers the most commonly used blocks for building. If a specific block is missing, it may not be in the current database. We update the block list over time.
