Minecraft 1.12.2 Server Download

Minecraft 1.12.2 is one of the most enduring versions in Minecraft's history, released September 18, 2017 and still actively used today. The 1.12 World of Color Update added concrete, glazed terracotta, and the Advancement system.

However, 1.12.2's staying power has nothing to do with those features. It became, and remains, the single most mod-supported version Minecraft has ever seen.

For the Forge modding ecosystem, 1.12.2 represents peak development. Thousands of mods target 1.12.2, and virtually every classic modpack is built on it. Feed the Beast, Tekkit, Sky Factory 3, SevTech: Ages, Infinity Evolved, and hundreds more all run on 1.12.2. Many of these modpacks were never updated to newer versions.1 If you're playing any classic modpack from the 2017–2020 era, you almost certainly need a 1.12.2 server.

This version requires Java 8, but most mods and modpacks that support it can still be easily found on CurseForge.
